MinPop 2024 marked the latest edition of the Mindanao Popular Music Festival, continuing its mission to champion original Mindanaoan songwriting and contemporary pop music. Building on the momentum of its previous editions, MinPop 2024 showcased a new wave of composers whose works reflect the evolving sound, stories, and identities of Mindanao. With a more mature festival framework and broader community engagement, MinPop 2024 further strengthened its role as a regional platform for original music, connecting grassroots creativity with professional production, performance opportunities, and wider audience reach.

MinPop 2022 was the second edition of the Mindanao Popular Music Festival, staged during the COVID-19 pandemic and adapted to the limitations of public gatherings and live events. Implemented through a series of activities from September 2021 to February 2022, the festival embraced digital submissions, remote screenings, and modified production workflows to ensure continuity while prioritizing safety. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, MinPop 2022 reaffirmed its commitment to championing original Mindanaoan songwriting, providing artists with a platform to create, collaborate, and be heard during a period of uncertainty for the music and events industry.

The Mindanao Popular Music Festival, otherwise known as MinPop, is a nationwide songwriting competition that aims to showcase original Mindanaoan popular music. The 2020 MinPop Songwriting Competition was implemented through a series of activities conducted from June 2019 to February 2020, held under the auspices of Muzic’s Kool, in partnership with Mindanao Music. The competition was designed to discover, develop, and promote original compositions by Mindanao-based songwriters, with emphasis on contemporary pop and original musical expression.
